LEGO - UCS Millennium Falcon - A Builder’s Tale (PART 12)

Falcon Build Progress Report #12: Venting into Space

Today saw the additions of Finn and B8 to the crew! These are the first mini-figure additions in several weeks and were welcomed as part of today’s build session. Today’s actual additions to the ship were some of the aft engine venting ports and rear hull plating. Like I had mentioned (somewhat ad nauseam yesterday) the Falcon is a celebration to permanently unfinished project machines everywhere. So it is in the aft quarters where the detailing by Lego designers on the pipes, cables, bits and bobs scattered of her hull is quite exquisite. The challenge in today’s build and in, I suspect, future sessions is precisely this. Can my failing eyes catch all the little bits and one-off details in the plan. Lego provides some extra bricks for those really tiny pieces that can be easy to lose. I have quite a collection in my little ziplock bag by my mini-figure crew. I must have missed some stuff along the way. But time will tell. Until next week!
