LEGO - UCS Millennium Falcon - A Builder’s Tale (PART 15)
Falcon Build Progress Report #15: More Panelling and the Light of the End Begins to Flicker in the Distance
This last build session for the day (Bag(s) #15) saw me constructing the panelling for most of the forequarter of the Falcon as well as adding the final touches (again I think) to the midship section. She is really starting to look like the Falcon now. As I finished I did stop and look at where we were and I was pretty happy. I know I have mentioned this before but this build really is one of stamina. It takes time. Patience has been a hard earned soft skill in my life for what little I have of it and the Falcon has been an oddly good proving ground for it. When I am done these sessions I feel tired. It's just Lego but on this scale it takes mental energy to keep going. The instructions have so far been really good - but they would have to be for a 7,500+ piece build. It's just not a project you can bang out in an afternoon. But that doesn't mean I have not been enjoying this and enjoying giving you these updates. Onwards to next week where we (perhaps) may be signing off. We'll see how the rest of my actual life plays out before we uncork the non-alcoholic champagne.
