LEGO - UCS Millennium Falcon - A Builder’s Tale (PART 4)
Falcon Build Progress Report #4: Ignore the Back Pain and Build A Room or “Are You Not Man Enough”
Commitment is a homely mistress. After my lamentations for lost Legos yesterday I made the cross city excursion to the Lego Store where after much milling and sad looks I found my missing brick. I left much relieved and realized I had neglected most sustenance so I stopped and ate some Chinese food at a food court while hearing a French Canadian man regale an elderly gentleman about all the properties he owned getting rich off the funeral business (seriously, this happened). Apparently I am in the wrong line of work. Instead of accounting and doing hobby Lego I should be burying the dead and billing the grief stricken. Another missed opportunity for the good life. Anyways, upon my return to my non-funerary financed fortress of suburban solitude I began Bag(s) 4. Today saw the assembly of two more compartments as well as the jointing of Original Trilogy Han and Leia to the crew. I thought by doing these single portion build sessions I would get by with an hour an half or two hours of work. Well we’re averaging 3 to 4 and the back pain as my failing eyes struggle to find each piece is starts to kick in in hour 3. I don’t know how child Georges sat on a floor for 8hrs building in the 80’s and 90’s. Old, fat, bald Georges can barely do it on a comfy couch. The build continues apace; casualties are (thus far) minimal. See you all next week.
